Infinity, an exceptional and growing small business, is looking for an experienced (3+ years) and cleared full-time Systems Engineer in the Colorado Springs Area for MILSATCOM system operational support.

The operations team needs your experience and skills maintaining and sustaining this vital satellite communications mission. You will perform technical advisor (TA) duties for an aging operational military satellite communications system in an operations environment as a member of the Defense Satellite Communications System (DSCS) Site Sustaining Engineering Team.

The most important aspect of our mission is keeping satellite communications 100% available for US military users worldwide, from soldiers and marines on the ground, to worldwide command centers, to strategic USAF airborne platforms, to US Navy ships across the seven seas. • Responsible for the day in the life technical support to 4th Space Operations Squadron (4 SOPS) with respect to the bus and payload of the DSCS satellite communications system

• This position provides spacecraft bus/payload engineering support of current mission objectives

• Plans and performs seasonal satellite performance assessments to trend key data and determine operational effectiveness and longevity

• Provides satellite operations recommendations to the Space Force to maximize effectiveness and minimize adverse impacts on the DSCS mission

• Provides engineering and operations technical advisor support to the Space Force crews, engineers and leadership to include on-console support of complex vehicle activities

• Provides spacecraft engineering support to the Space Force to resolve operational problems and vehicle anomalies

• Reviewing and approving spacecraft bus/payload related command plans, job aids, and other crew procedures

• Analyzes satellite telemetry using site and factory tools to define and tune operational monitoring limits

• Performs satellite telemetry trending to proactively identify any adverse trends or potential problems

• Interfaces regularly with Factory operations and maintenance engineers as well as Space Force engineering counterparts

Required Skills:

• The DSCS mission and satellites

• Analytical problem solving

• Understanding the complexities of aging satellites and the decision making process related to end of operational life activities

• Anomaly detection, analysis, and resolution in satellite systems

• Data analysis and trending, both performing and using

• Working under pressure to restore mission capability quickly

• Being able to report to Schriever AFB within 75 minutes on a 24x7x365 basis in the event of satellite anomaly

• Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours and overtime when needed

• Working and communicating as part of an integrated team of military, civilians, and contractors from various companies

• Digging deep to find the right answers

• Constantly learning and growing

• Holding and keeping a Secret security clearance (mandatory requirement)

Also Great to Have

• Experience with various MILSATCOM missions such as MILSTAR, AEHF, WGS, etc.

• Understanding spacecraft subsystems, hardware, telemetry, command & control

• Experience with DoD Secret systems and environments

• Experience, military or contractor, working with and understanding military satellite communications missions, especially in a cleared operational environment; commercial satcom experience also valued.

• A degree in a STEM field, or relevant equivalent experience
