Infinity, an exceptional and growing small business, is looking for experienced (5+ years), certified, and cleared full-time Solaris and RHEL System Administrator in the Colorado Springs area for MILSATCOM system development and sustainment support at Peterson AFB.

The sustainment team needs your experience and skills maintaining and sustaining this vital satellite communications mission and the ground systems that support it. You will perform all of the typical duties and tasks involved with the administration of primarily Solaris and Linux systems, such as installs, patching, configuring, performing backups, user management, and security compliance.

The most important aspect of our mission is keeping protected band satellite communications 100% available for US military users worldwide, from soldiers and marines on the ground, to worldwide command centers, to strategic USAF airborne platforms, to US Navy ships across the seven seas. The warfighters’ mission success is the measure of our success.

• Participating in the implementation, maintenance, and support of information technologies, to include Solaris (primarily), Red Hat Linux, and sometimes Windows systems and components

• Scheduling and performing installations and upgrades to OS/COTs, software, and database packages in accordance with established IT policies and procedures

• Supporting the overall integration on new development systems as they transition to sustainment and be part of an extensive migration from Solaris to RHEL

• Managing appropriate software solutions to ensure server data integrity, monitoring and tuning the system to achieve optimum performance level, monitoring security alerts and application systems

• Working with other staff to ensure that all appropriate patches are applied

• Develop scripts to improve administration automation

• Developing and applying cybersecurity solutions utilizing current DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to ensure high compliance status is met

Required Skills:

• Administering complex IT systems that use Solaris 10/11, Red Hat Linux 6/7, and Windows 7+ OSs

• You have solid to extensive Solaris experience, including patching, on SPARC and x86 platforms

• You have solid virtualization experience (e.g. VMWare, Oracle VM, Hyper-V)

• Scripting administration task automation with Z-Shell, C-Shell, Perl, or similar

• Installing and configuring databases

• Maintaining and promoting excellent cyber hygiene and compliance for critical mission systems

• Having and maintaining current DoD 8570 certification, Security+ level or better

• Working and communicating as part of an integrated team of military, civilians, and contractors from various companies

• Digging deep to find the right answers

• Constantly learning and growing

• Holding and keeping a Secret security clearance (mandatory requirement)

• Being part of a close-knit small business family

Also Great to Have

• Experience with DoD Secret systems and environments

• Solid knowledge and experience in the use of LDAP

• Knowledge and experience with software configuration management processes, practices, and tools (e.g. ClearCase/ClearQuest)

• Sun, RHEL, Oracle, MCSE, VMWare, or similar IT product certifications

• Understanding the military’s satellite communications missions and operations

• Experience, military or contractor, working with military satellite communications missions, especially in a cleared operational environment; commercial satcom experience also valued.

• A degree in a STEM field, or relevant equivalent experience
