MILSATCOM Mission Planner & Sustainment Engineer [2021-18]

Combined Orbital Operations, Logistics and Resiliency (COOLR)

Infinity, an exceptional and growing small business, is looking for an experienced cleared full-time satellite-operations-focused engineer in the Colorado Springs area for MILSATCOM mission support at Schriever Air Force Base.

When MILSATCOM operators at the 4th Space Operations Squadron (4 SOPS) need support for mission success, they turn to you for help. You will help 4 SOPS schedule, troubleshoot, trend, maintain, and sustain the current constellation of MILSTAR and AEHF Protected Band communications satellites. This constellation provides new and unique challenges to you, as it is simultaneously new and aging, each satellite requiring varying levels of care and feeding. This sometimes requires you to respond rapidly to the operations center on short notice any time of day or night, but more commonly requires standard daytime work.

The most important aspect of our mission is keeping protected band satellite communications 100% available for US military users worldwide, from soldiers and marines on the ground, to worldwide command centers, to strategic USAF airborne platforms, to US Navy ships across the seven seas. The warfighters’ mission success is the measure of our success.

Infinity people are dedicated to mission success, doing it right the first time, not afraid of taking initiative to go above and beyond to get the job done, and love working for a company that puts taking care of you above all else. This contract is in year two of ten option years, offering long-term position security potential.

Your typical day

• You will work closely with and provide operational guidance to the 4SOPS customer relative to planning and coordination of both SGLS and ASMCS operations

• You will support the weekly MILSATCOM Operation Request Coordination Meeting to track and maintain an overall operational schedule to tasks

• You will work with 4SOPS mission scheduling to verify all planned support is properly scheduled on the SGLS and ASMCS schedule and deconflict conflicts with the subsystem TAs (Technical Advisors)

• You will perform subsystem trending actions and provide any identified adverse trends to the appropriate subsystem TA to investigate

• You will find personal satisfaction in the satisfaction of the customer and success of the warfighter

If you pique my interest, we will call to schedule a virtual interview. If you are a great candidate, we then submit your resume to our customer for consideration. They will select a few candidates for an interview with the technical lead and hiring manager, then make their final selection(s). At that point I will make you an excellent offer to join the team.

All experience levels are considered. Even if you do not check all the boxes, if you possess a great combination of transferrable experience and a strong drive to learn whatever else is needed to succeed, do not hesitate to apply. Just make sure your resume clearly shows how your other experience can apply to this position to make it easier for me.

If this position is not for you but you know someone who might be great for it, please let them know!
