Infinity, an exceptional and growing small business, is looking for an experienced cleared full-time engineer in the California Bay-Area for MILSATCOM mission system test support in Sunnyvale.

The NAST-T (Networked AEHF Satellite Test Tool) sustainment team needs your experience and skills improving, maintaining, and sustaining this vital satellite communications test tool. You will support drawing creation, enterprise data management, hardware design and development, component building, and integration of NAST-T with other system components.

The most important aspect of our mission is keeping protected band satellite communications 100% available for US military users worldwide, from soldiers and marines on the ground, to worldwide command centers, to strategic USAF airborne platforms, to US Navy ships across the seven seas. The warfighters’ mission success is the measure of our success.

Your typical day

• Review and correct existing NAST-T drawings per as built configuration

• Work with drafting engineer(s) to incorporate the updates and then support release of the updated drawings with new rev #s using Enterprise Product Data Management (EPDM) system

• Work with NAST-T senior Hardware (HW) engineers and create new drawings and then work with drafting engineer(s) to release the new drawings using EPDM system

• Design and develop custom cables when required

• Work with senior electronic engineers to design, develop, document and build new electronic HW for NAST-T lab’s HW infrastructure

• Work with senior electronic engineers to integrate the newly built HW with existing HW/Software (SW), test and support release of documentation

• Support/help senior NAST-T Information Technology (IT) team members for all IT infrastructure related activities such as install SW tools, configure network equipment, install IT HW Operating System (OS) and etc.

• Support the NAST-T infrastructure HW team to maintain the NAST-T lab’s HW infrastructure

You’re Good At

• Hardware engineering and integration configuration management processes, practices, and tools

• Understanding, reviewing, and updating hardware engineering drawings

• Understanding engineering and test hardware development tools, processes, and practices

• Interfacing with hardware, electronics, and drafting engineers

• Having and maintaining current DoD 8570 certification, Security+ level or better

• Using hand tools for building and installing hardware engineering units

• Installation of software such as OSs and tools

• Configuring network equipment

• Having the ability to physically handle the lifting, placement, and installation of hardware components

• Working and communicating as part of an integrated team of military, civilians, and contractors from various companies

• Digging deep to find the right answers

• Constantly learning and growing

• Working with only a virtual direct supervisor presence (at least at first)

• Holding and keeping a Secret security clearance (mandatory requirement)

• Being part of a close-knit small business family

Also Great to Have

• Electronics/Electrical engineering and design knowledge and experience

• Experience with computer networking and IT infrastructure

• Visio and Ddrafting or CAD experience

• Evangelizing Infinity’s reputation and capabilities to help grow our presence in the SF Bay area

• Understanding the military’s satellite communications missions and operations

• Experience, military or contractor, working with military satellite communications missions, especially in a cleared operational environment; commercial satcom experience also valued.

• A degree in EE or equivalent a STEM field, or relevant equivalent experience
