Facility Maintenance Leader [2020-77]


1. Responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of all facilities, grounds, structures and other improvements on the site as well as all supporting equipment.

2. Supervises the activities of personnel assigned to operate and maintain utilities systems including emergency power generation and distribution.

3. Responsible for the maintenance of all antennas, supporting structures and transmission lines on the site.

4. Responsible for all facilities maintenance which includes all of the normal construction and building trades including plumbing, carpentry, masonry, roofing, corrosion control, painting and custodial. Also supervises use of herbicides in the control of vegetation around the site.

5. Performs daily inspections of the facility with emphasis on antennas, supporting structures, fire and safety hazards, storage and disposal of hazardous material.

6. Ensures that the proper contingency planning is performed for all the site facilities and equipment.

7. Reviews stock levels of regularly used supplies and items for emergency repairs. Prepares various records and reports.

8. Assigns personnel to operate and maintain the site vehicular and ground powered equipment.

9. Ensures personnel have the requisite qualifications to operate various equipment such as forklifts, tractor, mowers, climbing certifications, and so on as well as hand tools.

10. Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Manager.

Required Skills:

Possess certificates for the following courses or be able to acquire certificates within six months of hiring: OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER), OSHA General Industry, and HVAC/Ozone Depletion Orientation.

Two (2) years vocational school type training in building trades mandatory. Four (4) years experience in general building trades work may be substituted for vocational training.

Minimum four (4) years experience in general maintenance trades.
