Combined Orbital Operations, Logistics and Resiliency (COOLR)

COOLR, Consolidated Orbital Operations and Logistics - Resiliency, contract supports DoD MILSATCOM programs. The COOLR contract provides the following services for the Space and Missile Systems Center Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) Systems Directorate (SMC/MC): This contract provides support for the sustainment of the DSCS III and Strategic SATCOM (Milstar Block I, Milstar Block II, and Advanced Extremely High Frequency (EHF) (AEHF)) satellites and ground systems through SMC/MC designated MILSATCOM operational and training sites.


Perform daily systems administration and help desk tasks in Windows, Solaris, and Linux environments, to include monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting physical and virtual systems. Apply cybersecurity best practices to ensure high compliance status is met. Perform testing and DR verification after software installs are complete. Troubleshoot any issues and provide support related to these software installs. Maintain and develop documentation as necessary. Perform periodic COTS assessments to determine continued compliance, usage, and needs. Troubleshoot any issues and provide support across the Information System.

Required Skills:


-3+ years of experience administering Windows, Solaris, and/or Linux operating systems environments (all three preferred)

-DoD 8570 Certification (Minimum Security+ or equivalent)

-Test and integration experience

-Understanding of basic networking, TCP/IP, NFS, command line, scripting

-Strong Hardware and Software Troubleshooting skills

-Ability to quickly learn new, complex systems and become the expert in first line response

-Ability to work effectively with corporate team mates and Government customers

-Strong organizational and written communication skills

-Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills

-Able to precisely follow implicit instruction and procedures

-Ability to work equally alone and in a team environment

-Ability to correctly and accurately complete work documents


-Previous help desk experience a plus

-Cyber Security (CS) and Information Assurance (IA) subject matter expertise

-Familiarity with system accreditation process

-Working knowledge of Clearcase & ClearQuest

-Medium or greater proficiency with Microsoft Office products

Bachelors or higher; Security+ Certification or equivalent/higher; in lieu of degree, equivalent experience will be considered
