Defensive Cyberspace Operator [2020-61]

GEARSS II

Infinity Systems Engineering is seeking Defensive Cyberspace Operations Monitors (DCOMs) in support of the Global Positioning System (GPS). DCOMs utilize Operating Instructions (OIs) to monitor GPS Control Segment activity via the Red Dragon Cyber Security Suite (RDCSS). DCOMs will provide threat detection and cyber incident response on a 24/7 basis. The position is located at Schriever Air Force Base (SAFB), Colorado with occasional travel to Vandenberg AFB (VAFB), California.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Monitor GPS network traffic conditions, performance, bandwidth indicators, anomaly alerts, unauthorized activity, audit logs, and any on-going cyber event or incident

• Provide notification to Space Force leadership of identified anomalous conditions

• Identify and document unauthorized activity and/or cyber events

• Conduct Malware Protection (MP) activities

• Collect packet capture data in support of Attack Sensing & Warning Components

• Provide insider threat detection support

Required Skills:

• Working experience with GPS systems preferred

• Strong interpersonal and teamworking skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to attain IAT Level II certification within 6 months

• Ability to attain CSSP Analyst & Incident Responder certification within 6 months

• Willing to work in 24/7 crew environment



Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience.

2 years of industry-related experience, with applicable DoD 8570.01-M certifications (e.g., Security+)
