Satellite Subsystems Specialist [2020-60]

Prototype Operations I (POPS-I)

The Satellite Subsystems Specialist will provide technical support on a satellite program and should have subsystem knowledge on multiple satellite subsystems (Attitude Control, Power, Thermal, TT&C, Payload).

• Monitor the performance of, and maintain, the health and welfare of satellite subsystems

• Perform and evaluate satellite station keeping maneuvers and special operations

• Support of the development and integration of the associated TT&C ground system

• Support and participate in the development of automation processes for real-time contacts

• Anomaly resolution support during satellite failures and ground system failures

Required Skills:

• Understanding of spacecraft subsystems, satellite communication systems, spacecraft operations, and ground control systems

• Work autonomously and perform self-directed efforts

• Experience working at a satellite command and control facility

• Operations of satellite command and control systems

• Experience in TT&C of Air Force, other military, NASA or commercial satellites

• Experience as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) or Subsystems Specialist on Air Force, other military, NASA or commercial satellites

• Experience resolving satellite and ground station anomalies

• Experience supporting development of satellite ground systems

• Experience with Air Force Satellite Control Network (AFSCN) or equivalent

Bachelor of Science degree preferred, but years of satellite operations experience can be used as substitute

2-10 years of experience

Albuquerque, NM

TS/SCI or SCI eligibility preferred
