Cybersecurity/Information Assurance Engineer [2020-32]

USSF SpOC Intel and Cyberdefense Enterprise Services (SPICES)

SPICES requires support in two different categories: Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO) and Cyberspace Analysis, Coordination, and Liaison (CACL) for United States Space Force (USSF). Performance will be conducted at multiple locations within USSF.

DCO support is to enable protection from, detection of, and response to cyber threats. The candidate shall support the Government in the areas of Protect, Detect, and Respond (as depicted in DoD Instruction (DoDI) 8530.01 Cybersecurity Activities Support to DoD Information Network Operations. These Computer Network Defense (CND)/DCO services define actions employed to prevent or mitigate USSF Space Enterprise network attacks that may cause disruption, denial, degradation, destruction, exploitation, unauthorized access, or information theft to computer networks, information systems, or their contents. USSF Space Enterprise includes USSF-assigned space mission systems including embedded Industrial Control Systems (ICS)/Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA).

The objective of the CACL function is to support USSF and the Space Operations Command (SpOC) in its efforts to monitor and analyze cyberspace threats, coordinate cyberspace orders among missions, and provide a liaison between USSF and outside entities relating to cyberspace intelligence. This requires highly complex cyberspace threat expertise to support increased demands for threat notifications to space mission systems. This supports the Combined Force Space Component Command (CFSCC) or similar (US Space Command) cyberspace protection and analysis goal of developing and implementing long-term strategic initiatives to meet the growing needs of the Intelligence Community (IC). Included in this support is collaboration and communication support between cyber and intelligence agencies and USSF.
