MILSATCOM Systems Engineer-IT / Systems Administrator, Junior to Mid Level [2020-08]

Combined Orbital Operations, Logistics and Resiliency (COOLR)

Systems Engineer-IT / Systems Administrator (OSSE)

Build and deploy operating systems and COTS products in a virtualized environment using automated deployment tools. Platforms primarily include Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016. Develop scripts using PowerShell, VBScript, or other similar tools to improve administration automation. Apply cybersecurity best practices to ensure high compliance status is met. Maintain and develop documentation as necessary. Perform periodic COTS assessments to determine continued compliance, usage, and needs. Troubleshoot any issues and provide support across the Information System.

Required Skills:

REQUIRED

• Active DOD SECRET clearance minimum, ability to obtain Top Secret desired

• Must meet DOD 8570/8140 IAT Level II Requirement (current Security+ or similar)

• Minimum 5 years Windows administration/engineering

• Minimum 5 years VMWare or other virtualization platform experience

Desired Experience/Qualifications:

• Microsoft Deployment Toolkit or similar automated deployment experience preferred

• Networking experience preferred

• Windows scripting experience preferred

• Active Directory Domain Services and Group Policy Management knowledge

• Solaris and/or Red Hat Linux administration experience highly desired

• Strong understanding of cybersecurity practices (patch management, STIG compliance, system accreditation, etc.)


Bachelors in a STEM or related field. Practical experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
