Senior Principal Digital Signal Processing Engineer [2019-48]


The Senior Principal Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Engineer will be a senior team member of a dynamic and multidiscipline development team. Responsibilities will span the development and fielding life cycle from initial concept definition through detailed design, development, and qualification testing and into fielding and customer support. The senior team member will define tasking/milestones and work with the team lead to ensure adherence to budgets, plans, and schedules and will provide expert guidance and consulting to other team members as well as being an individual contributor. The ideal candidate will have a strong background with the Linux or Unix operating systems and implementation of C/C++ signal processing algorithms.

Required Skills:

• US Citizen with current/existing TS/SCI

• Bachelor STEM degree and at least 10 years of related system or software engineering work experience

• Multithreaded application development experience that includes testing and debugging in C++/C on Linux or Unix environments

• Ability to translate system performance and operation specifications into system and software requirements, design, and test specifications

• Experience implementing signal processing algorithms in C/C++

• Experience in developing and optimizing algorithms for performance

• Experience with software configuration management and development process control

• Experience developing near real-time embedded control software in a Linux environment

• Working knowledge of digital waveform design and application

• Experience with Microsoft Office suite (e.g. Project, PowerPoint, Excel and Word)

• Experience establishing and maintaining good working relationships with all levels of the organization, including Government customer, program leadership, and support organizations

• Good understanding of development processes and their application to programs

• High level of integrity and strong work ethic

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Must be willing and able to travel, as required
